(Photo by Gregory Shamus/Getty Images)It’s been a wild day of college football so far. The Citadel took down Georgia Tech in overtime in a crazy upset. Virginia Tech survived an upset scare from Furman. Now, No. 18 Michigan State is on the ropes against Arizona State. While it wouldn’t be a shocking upset, it would certainly be surprising considering MSU is at home. The Spartans trailed the Sun Devils, 3-0, at halftime. Halfway home 😈🔱 pic.twitter.com/sMo0FIem3O— Sun Devil Football (@ASUFootball) September 14, 2019It’s a low-scoring affair in East Lansing. Just three total points scored in an entire half of football isn’t something you see too often anymore. But it’s enough for the Sun Devils to have the lead at the half.ASU true freshman quarterback Jayden Daniels is getting it done for the Sun Devils. Daniels has just 82 yards, but is completing 66.6% of his passes. The Spartans have had opportunities to score in this one. But two missed fields goals have prevented Michigan State from taking the lead. MSU missed a 47 and 31 yard field goal, both misses coming in the second quarter.MSU quarterback Brian Lewerke is having a decent game throwing for 144 yards. But poor offensive execution in ASU territory is plaguing the offense. So much so that the Spartans were booed off the field as they went into the locker room at halftime.Michigan State needs to get things figured out quickly. ASU isn’t expected to be one of the better teams in the Pac-12.Will the Spartans come back and win this one?last_img read more

With Anandiben’s appointment, it’s for the first time that UP will get a woman Governor since its inception in 1950. Sarojini Naidu was the first Governor in 1947 of United Provinces. As per experts, Dhankar made it to the list due to his legal experiences. “As in the given political scenario, the Centre’s first priority is to improve relations between the Centre and the state, so the appointment of Dhankar as state Governor is a move in that direction,” the experts said, adding Dhankar has a long political career too. Outgoing Governor Tripathi was at loggerheads with the Chief Minister and the relationship between Raj Bhavan and Nabanna reached a stalemate, especially during the recent Doctors’ strike in Kolkata. Dhankar was formerly a Janata Dal MP from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, during 1989-91 and a Minister in the Central government. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2003. The newly appointed Governor was also a former MLA from Rajasthan’s Kishangarh and he had also held the post of president of Rajasthan High Court Bar Association, Jaipur. Dhankar is also a member of ICC International Court of Arbitration. Newly appointed Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan is a six time MLA from Ghosi Assembly seat of Uttar Pradesh. Chauhan is considered a prominent backward community face in the UP BJP and holds influence over the backward communities in the Mau-Azamgarh region of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Prior to joining the BJP, Chauhan won the Assembly elections for the fifth time in May 2007 on a BSP ticket from Ghosi seat. The appointment of R N Ravi as Nagaland Governor is aimed at maintaining peace in the state. Ravi, a 1976-batch IPS officer of the Kerala cadre, will replace P B Acharya, who is the current governor of Nagaland and Manipur. Ravi, who is the deputy national security adviser (NSA), took over as Centre’s representative for Naga peace talks in 2014. Ramesh Bais, who has been appointed the 18th Governor of Tripura, was a union minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
