Lawyers for Cristiano Ronaldo said on Friday they would sue German magazine Der Spiegel after it published “blatantly illegal” accusations by an American woman who alleges she was raped by the Portuguese soccer star in 2009.Ronaldo’s lawyer Christian Schertz said in a statement the report was “an inadmissible reporting of suspicions in the area of privacy”, and that he would seek legal redress for his client from the magazine. The statement was sent to Reuters by Ronaldo’s agent Gestifute in response to a request for comment on the Der Spiegel story. Gestifute did not answer any specific questions about the content of the Der Spiegel report, which Reuters was unable to independently verify.Ronaldo is one of the biggest names in world sport. He has been named player of the year five times and transferred to Juventus from Real Madrid this summer for 100 million euros. The Italian club declined to comment on the Der Spiegel report. The magazine said the rape allegedly took place in June 2009 in a hotel room in Las Vegas, according to Leslie Mark Stovall, lawyer for the alleged victim, Kathryn Mayorga.Ronaldo and Mayorga then reached an out-of-court agreement, according to Stovall as reported in the magazine. It said, according to Stovall, that she had pledged never to speak of the accusation again and Ronaldo paid her $375,000.”Kathryn was sexually assaulted in June 2009 by an individual named Cristiano Ronaldo,” Mayorga’s lawyer, Leslie Mark Stovall, said in a video published online by Der Spiegel.Reuters was not able to independently verify Mayorga’s allegations.advertisementStovall did not immediately respond to email requests from Reuters for comment on the report and Mayorga was not available for comment in telephone calls to her home. Her lawyer told Der Spiegel, however, that he had filed a civil complaint seeking to declare the non-disclosure agreement void.”The purpose of this lawsuit is to hold Cristiano Ronaldo responsible within a civil court of law for the injuries he has caused Kathryn Mayorga and the consequences of those injuries,” Stovall told Der Spiegel.Schertz said he would seek compensation from Der Spiegel for “moral damages in an amount corresponding to the gravity of the infringement, which is probably one of the most serious violations of personal rights in recent years.”The magazine’s Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Alfred Weinzierl, told Reuters that Der Spiegel had repeatedly written to Ronaldo’s management and lawyers about the allegations before publishing its report.”We sent written questions, to which there were no answers. Nobody sued us in connection with earlier Ronaldo reports,” he said in an email.Mayorga told Der Spiegel she no longer felt bound by the non-disclosure agreement as she suffers from the consequences of the night nine years ago.”I’ve had like these serious breakdowns,” she told the magazine. “And again, blaming of the rape. And I blame him, and I blame myself for signing that thing.”
Chelsea midfielder Cesc on emotional farewell: This career goes so fastby Paul Vegas10 months agoSend to a friendShare the loveChelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has spoken of his final game before joining AS Monaco. The midfielder was handed a rare start and given the captain’s armband for his final appearance in a blue shirt for the FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest.Fabregas missed a first-half penalty but Maurizio Sarri’s side ran out 2-0 winners thanks to Alvaro Morata’s double. The Blues boss withdrew Fabregas in the closing minutes so supporters could give the Spaniard a deserved send off after 198 games for the club.”Time flies,” said Fabregas. “It feels like last week that I started playing professionally and now it’s more than 15 years.”It goes so fast and you have to be ready every three days, for the criticism with everyone saying how good you are and the ups and downs.”It feels like growing older it never goes away it is technique. Physicality goes away. Technicality stays with you.”Nottingham Forest keeper Luke Steele denied Fabregas the perfect send off when he kept out the former Arsenal man’s spot-kick.Fabregas added: “I saw the keeper going down in the middle of the run and I thought I had it. It was unfortunate.”The day I got 100 caps for Spain I also missed a penalty, so it was destiny.” TagsTransfersAbout the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say
Peace River Zone Theatre Festival Flyer. Photo by the Stage North Theatre Society Facebook Page.Friday’s show is Blackbird, which is a heavy drama about two people who had a very unconventional affair when they were young. The Stage North Theatre Society presented this show back on May 10th, which means residents who didn’t get the chance to see this two weeks ago will have a second chance to witness the drama.Saturday’s show is Mary’s Wedding, which takes place the night before Mary’s Wedding in 1920. The play journeys through Mary’s dream, her past, and the moment she meets her first love Charlie before he volunteers for World War One. Charlie’s side of the story takes place in the trenches along side his mentor and sergeant. The play is as much about history as it is about romance.Tickets for the event cost $25 to see all three shows, or $10 for individual shows.Residents can purchased tickets at the North Peace Cultural Centre. FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Peace River Zone Theatre Festival starts today at the North Peace Cultural Centre. The festival runs until Saturday and will feature a different play each day. Patna/Muzaffarpur: Four police personnel were suspended and a poll official was issued show cause notice in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district on Tuesday for keeping six EVMs inside a hotel room while voting was on for the fifth phase, a top official said. The district authorities were, however, quick to assert that none of the EVMs was used or their seals broken. The matter came to light when several local leaders of the opposition ‘Mahagathbandhan’ noticed that poll-related paraphernalia was being taken inside a hotel by Sector Magistrate Awadhesh Kumar and raised an alarm. Muzaffarpur district magistrate and district election officer, Alok Ranjan Ghosh dismissed allegations of suspected misuse of the EVMs. “None of the EVMs was used for voting and all were sealed. These were kept in reserve meant for replacement in case of a snag being reported from anywhere, he said.
Kolkata: A day when noted Bengal mountaineer Dipankar Ghosh went missing while he was coming down after scaling Mount Makalu in Nepal, the state government sent a two-member team to supervise the search operation for Kuntal Karar and Biplab Baidya on Kanchenjunga expedition who were feared dead after rescue operation to bring them down proved futile.”The two-member team comprising an official from the state Youth Affairs department and mountaineer Debdas Adhikary has already reached Kathmandu. They will supervise search operation of Kuntal, Biplab as well as Dipankar who went missing on Friday,” said Ujjal Ray, a member of the advisory committee of the state Youth Affairs department. As informed to Ray by Seven Summits agency which was overseeing the expedition of Dipankar, the latter had successfully scaled the fifth highest peak of the world but while descending to the base camp went missing. Mingma Sherpa who was with Ghosh claimed that when he was last seen, the mountaineer was fit and was instructing him to help another Indian team after an Indian member in the expedition died due to weather conditions. Indian Army officer Narayan Singh had died at camp four on Thursday night while climbing down from the 8485-metre peak. Singh had joined the Army in 2002 and hailed from Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. He is survived by his wife and three young children. According to sources, the expedition lost track of Ghosh after he failed to reach the summit camp. The Nepal government has launched search operations to locate Ghosh but adverse weather conditions have become a barrier. Known as one of the most outstanding mountaineers, Dipankar Ghosh has undertaken 47 mountaineering expeditions, including Mount Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt Kanchenjunga, Mt Annapurna-I, Mt Manaslu, Mt Dhaulagiri, and Mt Cho Oyu. A resident of Bally in Howrah, Dipankar had left his residence on May 8 for the expedition. Mt. Makalu is considered amongst the most dangerous and challenging peaks to summit. It may be mentioned that Ramesh Ray and Rudraprasad Halder who had fallen sick during the Kanchenjanga expedition were airlifted and brought to the base camp on Thursday afternoon.
If averaging 20 points per game is the traditional benchmark of the NBA star, scoring 30 a night vaults a player into another category entirely. Not including this year’s early hopefuls — Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder — it’s been done 65 times in all of NBA and ABA history, most often by the Michael Jordans and Wilt Chamberlains of the world. Joining that rarified club, or even coming within striking distance of it, is a big deal. Before he had an off night against the Sixers on Monday, Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan was positioned to join that group. And given how much freedom to shoot he’s been granted in the Raptors’ offense, he’ll probably flirt with the 30-PPG barrier again before the season is over. Considering that DeRozan set a career high in scoring last season with 23.5 points a game, his sustained run at the 30-point level has been a revelation. In the NBA, players don’t just wake up with an extra 6 or 7 points per game in their pockets.DeRozan’s improvement is especially rare for a player who already scores a lot: Among all the players in NBA history who improved on their existing career high in scoring by at least 5 PPG in a season, DeRozan currently has the 18th-highest scoring average. It’s a leap nearly identical to the one Steph Curry made last season.DeRozan has continued a long trend of dragging his efficiency up to match his perpetually high usage — despite the additional workload this season, he’s up to 80th in true shooting percentage among qualified scorers1For the purposes of this story, a player qualified for the league leaderboard if he played 12.2 minutes per scheduled team game, which works out to about 1,000 minutes in a normal 82-game season. this year, which is a career high for him. Part of that is DeRozan benefitting from the Raptors’ faster pace this season — they’re averaging 2.1 more possessions per game this year than last — even if that’s not always coach Dwane Casey’s preferred way to play. And in the half-court, he’s developed a near-mastery of the two-man game with teammate Jonas Valanciunas, with both players ranking among the league’s most efficient in the pick-and-roll. DeRozan’s probably sinking his deep 2s (a longtime staple of his game, much to statheads’ chagrin) at an unsustainably high rate, but he’s also hitting far fewer of his 3s than he did last year, so that should balance out.But DeRozan may also have maxed out just how much impact a player of his particular style can have. Among the 86 cases since the merger where an NBA player scored at least 28 points per game in a season — including six players so far this year — DeRozan is tied for the eighth-lowest Box Plus/Minus. As a group, those players averaged an offensive BPM of +6.1; DeRozan’s is only +3.8. And although the Raptors have the second-best offensive efficiency in the NBA this season, their offense scores only 0.4 more points per 100 possessions when DeRozan is in the game than when he’s on the bench.Obviously, some of that is the residue of a relatively deep team being able to press that advantage against other teams’ reserves. But to use DeRozan’s most common floor-mates as comparison points, the Raptors’ offense loses 5.9 points per 100 possessions when Kyle Lowry exits the game and 6.6 points per 100 possessions when Patrick Patterson leaves the court. And then there’s his porous defense: His defensive BPM ranks 17th-worst among that group of 28-point scorers, and Toronto opponents are scoring 4.2 more points per 100 possessions with him on the floor than off.In other words, the metrics say DeRozan’s overall impact on the game isn’t anywhere near as valuable as his raw scoring would suggest.Perhaps none of this should come as a surprise. When I analyzed NBA players and sorted them into archetypes for a story in October, I found that DeRozan belongs to a class of player I dubbed “one-dimensional scorers” — players characterized by very high usage rates, good numbers in shooting efficiency and assists, and almost zero contributions on the boards or on defense. That kind of player is custom-built to put points on the board, and DeRozan is scoring the 10th-most points per game of anybody in that classification since the merger. But like DeRozan, they also lack in other areas of the game, and it almost always makes them less valuable than we’d expect based on their scoring averages alone. For instance, using all qualified players since the merger, I ran a regression that used each player’s points-per-game average in a given season to predict his Box Plus/Minus (to measure his overall performance, regardless of how he generated his value), then separated the results out by player archetype. The archetype that underperformed its predicted BPM the most (by far) was DeRozan’s group, the one-dimensional scorers, a trend that can be seen clearly when we graph them in comparison with all other archetypes: It’s not impossible for a one-dimensional scorer to have an outsized impact on the game, even relative to his scoring average. Curry, for instance, is suffering a down season to begin 2016-17 — causing him to slip into the same archetypal category as DeRozan (quelle horreur!) — but he’s still been a better player, according to BPM, than his 26.6-PPG would suggest. And DeRozan himself isn’t far from the apex of what a one-dimensional scorer can be. He currently ranks 94th in BPM out of the 1,162 qualified player-seasons that fit into the archetype since 1976-77.It’s also possible that the traditional statistical outlook on “pure” scorers misses some of the complexities of team dynamics. In the same way that the Warriors can cram more skill sets onto the floor by adding Kevin Durant — the rare superstar who also functions as a floor-spacing sharpshooter — perhaps scorers who can carry an inordinate burden without leaking efficiency allow teams to stuff the rest of the roster with more diversely talented players. But even if that’s the case, it hasn’t turned up in the stats yet, despite a lot of people looking for a way to pin down that dynamic (or something like it) over the years. The debate over the value of one-dimensional scorers is far from settled even in today’s age of advanced analytics, and there’s plenty of evidence that it’s difficult to replace what a top scorer brings to his team. But the numbers also suggest that certain playing styles tend to produce less value than others. It will be interesting to see if that holds true even when the performance is as prolific as DeRozan’s has been early this season.Check out our latest NBA predictions.
WESTERN CONFERENCE1. Los Angeles LakersThe defending world champions added Ron Artest into the starting lineup, and center Andrew Bynum will return soon from an Achilles injury. But the Lakers have been sluggish closing out the season, and Kobe Bryant has been banged up for most of the season. With many potentially dangerous roadblocks, it will be tough for Los Angeles to reach the NBA Finals for the third straight year. They still have the best chance to do so.2. Dallas MavericksDallas was one of the best teams in the NBA after acquiring guard Caron Butler and center Brendan Haywood from Washington. Even though the Mavs have Jason Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki as the cornerstones of their team, they ended up with the San Antonio Spurs in the first round, a team nobody wants to play in the playoffs. If they get out of the first round, Dallas has a shot at the NBA Finals.3. Phoenix SunsThis Phoenix team is very different from the one from five years ago, but it is still all about the high-tempo offense of Steve Nash and Amar’e Stoudemire, a superstar duo. But their flash has not yielded great playoff success, as the Suns have given up the most points of any playoff team. If Nash and Stoudemire stay hot, the Suns can make a lot of noise in the later rounds out West.4. Denver NuggetsCarmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups remain one of the best duos out West, and Denver’s forwards are excellent rebounders. But they have struggled as coach George Karl has undergone treatment for throat cancer, and the Nuggets’ road record is one of the worst among playoff teams. With Karl most likely out for the first round, Denver will need to dig deep against Utah. If they do, they can get a rematch with the Lakers.5. Utah JazzA team stacked with big men, the sky is the limit for the Jazz. With the leadership and playmaking abilities of point guard Deron Williams, the Jazz have big men and 3-point shooters. What they lack is a pure shooter who can hit the mid-range jump shot on a regular basis when Williams gets in trouble and cannot dish it off to one of his big men.6. Portland Trail BlazersA young team on the rise, the Blazers have nothing to lose and everything to gain from this experience. Unfortunately, they will be without All-star and leader Brandon Roy in the first series due to a torn meniscus in his right knee that needs surgery. An injury plagued season, first losing Greg Oden and now Roy, they hope to upset the Phoenix Suns in the first round.7. San Antonio SpursExperience, experience, experience. That’s what the Spurs have, but maybe too much experience. With the great Tim Duncan, age might hinder the Spurs’ run if he cannot carry the team on his back like he did in his wonder years. This is where they hope superstar sixth man Manu Ginobili can keep up his hot streak and lead the team to another title. With the off-season acquisition of Richard Jefferson and the solid point guard play of Tony Parker, the Spurs are still a team to reckon with in the playoffs.8. Oklahoma City ThunderThough it’s the Thunder’s first playoff appearance since moving to OKC, scoring champion Kevin Durant hopes to not make it a short tenure. Even though they are young and hungry, they lack size and 3-point shooters. To top it off, they are matched up with last year’s NBA Champion Lakers in the first round. But gaining experience and seeing how far they can make it will only better the young squad for future seasons to come.-Tim Bielik and Michael WillisEASTERN CONFERENCE1. Cleveland CavaliersLeBron James. Enough said. Aside from showcasing arguably the best player in the league, the Cavs are second in 3-point percentage and third in overall field goal percentage, making them one of the most potent offenses in all of basketball. While there don’t seem to be many soft spots in Cleveland’s game, center Shaquille O’Neal has not seen action since suffering a thumb injury in late February, which could cause a weakened post presence. Finishing four games better than the defending champion Lakers, it is hard to not have Cleveland as a favorite to win the east if not the whole thing.2. Orlando Magic The Magic have one of the best big men in the game in Dwight Howard, who proved to be too much for anyone else in the east to handle last postseason, including Cleveland, and could provide Orlando with a slight edge in the east once again. Orlando has been inconsistent at times this season. Both Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis have struggled at points, which could spell disaster in crunch time. If Carter and Lewis can find their shooter’s touch and Howard maintains his dominating presence in the post, the Magic could give the Cavs a run for their money come conference finals time.3. Atlanta HawksIn his first year in Atlanta, sharp shooter Jamal Crawford has been a huge boost off the bench for the Hawks, providing what could be just the spark they need to get over the hump in the east. Mustering just one playoff series victory in the last 10 years, the Hawks lack the postseason experience that the other top tier teams will benefit from. Atlanta has come a long way in the last 3 years, but they will have to come much further, much quicker if they want to get past Orlando and Cleveland.4. Boston CelticsThe nod for most experienced team in the east would have to go to the Celtics whose starting five that won the NBA title in ’08 remains intact. Boston struggled down the stretch, posting a 3-7 record over their last ten games, and age remains a factor with the ‘Big 3′ all approaching their mid 30’s. The Celtics shined in ’08 but, despite the starting line-up remaining the same, their lack of youth is a big challenge in challenging for the Eastern Conference title. 5. Miami HeatOn a hot streak, winning 12 of its last 13 games, and guard Dwayne Wade has the ability to take over a game. Not much talent behind Wade, especially in the front court. Miami was 0-3 against Boston in the regular season. Although the Heat has the best chance at an upset in the East going against the aging Celtics, Miami’s weak front court will not be able to handle Boston’s big men. 6. Milwaukee BucksMidseason acquisition John Salmons has averaged 19.9 points per game since joining the Bucks, and point guard Brandon Jennings is a contender for Rookie of the Year. Milwaukee lost its best player, forward Andrew Bogut, to injury near the end of the season. Can others step up?With Bogut, the Bucks could have made a deep run in the playoffs. Without him, they will be lucky to win two games against Atlanta. 7. Charlotte BobcatsBobcats are very good defensively, allowing the fewest points in the NBA at 93.8 per game. Guard Stephen Jackson can score from anywhere. Charlotte has also scored the fewest points of any team at 95.3 per game. The Bobcats have no answer for Orlando’s Dwight Howard in the post, especially if Tyson Chandler’s recent injuries linger. Charlotte’s defense will keep them in games, but the team lacks the inside presence to win more than a few games against the Magic. 8. Chicago BullsDerrick Rose is an explosive point guard and averaged 17 points and 9.3 assists against Cleveland this season. The Bulls allowed more points than they scored this season. They simply don’t have the talent to give the Cavs much of a problem. Although the Bulls split the season series against Cleveland, the most recent victory came with LeBron James on the sideline. James will not be resting during the playoffs. -Travis Kozek and Matt Skrajner

Facebook Twitter Google+LinkedInPinterestWhatsApp#TurksandCaicos, December 28, 2017 – Providenciales – The overarching theme when the Progressive National Opposition party met with media in their one year review of the PDM Administration was that there was no change, little to nothing done in the first 12 months of office, that they were a disappointment to voters and that now, the grace period is over so the public should expect a more vocal and active PNP. Former Education, Youth and Sports Minister, Akierra Missick gave a scathing observation about a lack of policy, transparency, funding and care for the youngest citizens and residents.“Twelve months in office, several sessions of Parliament, no development of a Sport Commission, which they criticized our administration on not being able to deliver during our term. For they would say, Rome was not built in a day. Well this is such a low hanging truth, that if it was a priority, if sport was a priority of this government, this should have been the first thing that was done, but instead, they had a little dispute in Cabinet and they fired a minister. Did this set the ministry back, I think the ministry was further set back by the changing of the technical support officers, including the Permanent Secretary and Deputy Secretary in the Ministry, thus creating a vacuum of knowledge, knowledge that may not have been transferred in a timely manner. We have the most precious resource in this country, that is our children. They cannot wallow in delay after delay and delay in their development.”The Leeward Member asked her constituents for understanding as she is now pledged to champion the children in her new approach to dealing with the PDM as Government.“We will get our park done without the government, because they have decided that by spiting me, they are actually going to spite the children of Leeward and Long Bay. And the residents of Long Bay that still do not have access to city water, no fault of my own, budgeted, was told by the minister, it wasn’t his government’s priority. I bet you they will come to you just before the election, saying that they will promise you water. But not to fear, I will keep it to the forefront of their mind, even if it is not a priority of theirs, it is a priority of mine.”Porsha Smith graded the PDM on the one year anniversary of winning office at the polls; she said The Bight is the only thing that’s right as member from that district and former Tourism and Culture Minister Porsha Smith. Smith took to grading on a letter scale how good and bad the PDM performed in their first semester in office.“F, F, F, marketing to foreign countries and sending pictures back home to persons who actually are not interested in patronizing us and prefer to go to another country not to far from us, for less money, because they can’t handle the superiorness of this destination. I need the money, that’s an F, put the money where it will be used. Trust the marketing professionals that you have employed.Smith was livid by so called cutbacks in marketing, reportedly excessive travelling by the Premier and death to plans which had taken shape under the former PNP Government.“Put it in The Bight where you have your number one hotels, your luxury brand hotels who are winning several awards, where people can walk to it, where the residents of Turks and Caicos can also be a part of highlighting and displaying your culture and heritage here in the Turks and Caicos. People don’t just come to a country just for a beach, they want to be able to have the exposure and the experience of your country. Explore further Citation: Fabricating 3D Photonic Crystals (2009, January 21) retrieved 18 August 2019 from https://phys.org/news/2009-01-fabricating-3d-photonic-crystals.html (PhysOrg.com) — “In photonic crystals, the ability to control the structure of a material in full three dimensional space, allows you to control the way that light flows through it,” John Rogers tells PhysOrg.com. “This approach to photonic materials can be useful in applications ranging from communications to lasers to optical waveguides.” Rogers, a scientist at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his colleagues at the University of Illinois and a team from Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, have developed a simple technique that allows for the fabrication of silicon photonic crystals in 3-D. Their process is described in Applied Physics Letters: “Three dimensional silicon photonic crystals fabricated by two photon phase mask lithography.”“Theoretical studies of idealized structures of this general type suggest their promise for manipulating of the flow of light through devices,” Rogers continues, “but from a practical standpoint, the fabrication has been difficult. Often, these crystals are patterned in a two dimensional plane defined by a silicon wafer. If you want something three dimensional, you stack them up to form a thin structure that has some level of 3D character. Unfortunately, with this method, you have more steps, making it more involved and expensive.”The team from the University of Illinois and Sandia decided to use phase mask lithography to create a full three dimensional silicon photonic crystal from the outset. Silicon is used because it has a high index of refraction, making it ideal for applications that make use of light. “The technique we’ve achieved is the culmination of six years of work as we tried to figure out how to optimize this process.”In order to create 3-D photonic crystals, the team used rubber optical elements and a specially prepared polymer. Using a laser, it is possible to create a pattern out of the polymer to define the crystal geometry of the crystal – a mold. Next, Rogers said, the three dimensional structure mold was used as a template. “We grew silicon on the polymer template, similar to what is done in two dimensions in the microelectronics industry.” Finally, the polymer template is burned away, leaving the silicon photonic crystal behind.“One of the key aspects of this fabrication process is that it is scalable,” Rogers says. “Not only are we facilitating patterning up front, but we’re also talking about a process that we can do over large areas, such as a square meter. In addition, it has the advantage of being adaptable to technology that already exists.”The ability to create silicon photonic crystals that are larger, using a process that is less expensive and elaborate than what is normally used, offers some potential for applications dealing with light. Rogers points out that this fabrication process would be useful for reflective (or even anti-reflective) coatings, creating optical diodes and even accomplishing high speed data routing. He even sees potential to adapt the process to work on a micro level, integrating these types of techniques with electronics. “There are a number of applications that could benefit from this fabrication process, since it offers high quality, low-cost photonic crystals.”More information: Shir, D., et. al. “Three dimensional silicon photonic crystals fabricated by two photon phase mask lithography.” Applied Physics Letters (2009). Beware, she may be at an increased risk of harming hormones, growth as well as mental health, researchers warned. The findings showed that diet pills are unsafe for all ages but especially for teenagers due to the presence of toxic chemicals in the supplements. These pills interfere with the body systems and result in nutritional deficiencies, particularly of iron and calcium, the researchers said. Weight loss pills are advertised as the quick solution to shedding pounds and obtaining the perfect figure, but they come with potentially dangerous side effects, including increased heart rate, fainting, unusual bleeding and heart attacks.Diet pills can also cause and, in extreme cases they can rip apart the stomach lining and even lead to death, the study showed. Further, researchers from the University of Minnesota said a startling 63 per cent of teenage girls use “unhealthy weight control behaviours” to maintain a slim shape.About 22 per cent of teenage females use “very unhealthy weight control behaviours”. The use of diet pills in teenage girls had a significant spike in a five-year span, jumping from 7.5 per cent to 14.2 per cent in 2006, they claimed.Instead of turning to diet pills, exercise, changing eating habits and drinking more water, mediation, are other healthy ways to lose weight, the reseachers said.
Listening to the Arduino developer community, the Arduino team has released a command line interface (CLI) for it. The CLI is a single binary file that performs most of the features present in the IDE. There was a wide gap between using the IDE and being able to use CLI completely for everything in Arduino. The CLI will allow you to Install new libraries, create new projects, and compile projects directly from the command line. Developers will get an advantage to test their projects quickly. You can also create your own libraries and compile them directly, for your own or third-party codes. Installing project dependencies will be as easy as typing the following command: arduino-cli lib install “WiFi101” “WiFi101OTA” In addition, the CLI has a JSON interface added for easy parsing by other programs. There were many requests for makefiles integration and the support has been added for it. The Arduino CLI can run on both ARM and Intel (x86, x86_64) architectures which means it can be installed on a Raspberry Pi or on any server. Massimo Banzi, Arduino founder stated: “I think it is very exciting for Arduino, one single binary that does all the complicated things in the Arduino IDE.” The Arduino team looks forward to people seeing integrating this tool in various IDEs. In the blog post by the Arduino team they have mentioned, “Imagine having the Arduino IDE or Arduino Create Editor speaking directly to Arduino CLI – and you having full control of it. You will be able to compile on your machine or on our online servers, detect your board or create your own IDE on top of it!” CLI is a better alternative to PlatformIO and will work on all three major operating systems, Linux, Windows, and macOS. The code is open source but you will need a license for commercial use. Visit the GitHub repository to get started with Arduino CLI. MOSCOW — After each of their friends tied the knot and wound up getting married, two men were left standing and single as ever. But rather than take the leap of matrimonial faith themselves, the two Americans – who’ve been friends for 15 years – booked a ‘homiemoon’ to Thailand to celebrate their bachelor lifestyles. What followed was an outpouring of love and laughs on social media, not to mention a possible new niche market in the travel industry. One of the men, who goes by ‘ignoreeverythingido’ on Imgur, documented the trip with photos that spoof the famous ‘Follow Me To’ travel pics by Murad Osmann and Natalia Zakharova.Murad and Natalia’s photos have inspired countless copycats who are in love and travel the world. But these ‘homiemoon’ pics are by far the funniest for putting a jokingly romantic twist on an otherwise heterosexual bromance.
