(Photo by Gregory Shamus/Getty Images)It’s been a wild day of college football so far. The Citadel took down Georgia Tech in overtime in a crazy upset. Virginia Tech survived an upset scare from Furman. Now, No. 18 Michigan State is on the ropes against Arizona State. While it wouldn’t be a shocking upset, it would certainly be surprising considering MSU is at home. The Spartans trailed the Sun Devils, 3-0, at halftime. Halfway home 😈🔱 pic.twitter.com/sMo0FIem3O— Sun Devil Football (@ASUFootball) September 14, 2019It’s a low-scoring affair in East Lansing. Just three total points scored in an entire half of football isn’t something you see too often anymore. But it’s enough for the Sun Devils to have the lead at the half.ASU true freshman quarterback Jayden Daniels is getting it done for the Sun Devils. Daniels has just 82 yards, but is completing 66.6% of his passes. The Spartans have had opportunities to score in this one. But two missed fields goals have prevented Michigan State from taking the lead. MSU missed a 47 and 31 yard field goal, both misses coming in the second quarter.MSU quarterback Brian Lewerke is having a decent game throwing for 144 yards. But poor offensive execution in ASU territory is plaguing the offense. So much so that the Spartans were booed off the field as they went into the locker room at halftime.Michigan State needs to get things figured out quickly. ASU isn’t expected to be one of the better teams in the Pac-12.Will the Spartans come back and win this one?last_img
